I wanted to know which one is going to open more doors in the long run. I understand that anymore you need a bachelors degree to even be considered for a higher level position. I plan on attending a 4 year university majoring in business management. Right now it looks like there will only be one class that wont transfer if i do get the business management AA. I would love any additional information or helpful tips that can help me make a decision.

An associates degree in business administration might open the door to a line manager provided you are on a career path for it and you are in a profession that will allow an associates degree to manage. Professions like health care and education normally require that you have a bachelors degree before you can do any supervision and hold the proper credentials. Furthermore, most supervisory and other jobs such as business analyst will require a four year degree in business.

My advice to you is if, as you state, your goal is getting your four year degree in business then you are better off transferring now then getting your associates degree in business. Reason being, an associates degree in business might open limited opportunities for you but for most jobs you will be competing against those with a bachelors degree. This means if you want the opportunity in business then you are better off getting your four year degree than first getting your associates.

Check out the book, “Six-Week Start-Up: A Step-by-step program for starting your business, making money, and achieving your goals!” by Rhonda Abrams.

Although I haven’t read it yet, it has good customer ratings on Amazon.com and I browsed through it after buying it and it looks really good. The only reason I haven’t read it yet is because I’m presently on a different book on a similar subject (I’m presently planning my own business).

Getting a job working for someone else can really be more trouble than it’s worth. At least with your own business, you get paid in exact proportion to your worth. And you don’t have to worry about someone always looking over your shoulder (except for the government, that is).
